Dry dandruff (Pitiriasis Simplex Capitis)
What is dry dandruff?
Pityriasis Simplex Capitis, commonly known as dry dandruff, is characterised by small patches of ash-white scales attached to the scalp. However, unlike oily dandruff, these patches are looser and easily flake off, falling onto our clothes and becoming visible.
A scalp with dry dandruff is dehydrated and often irritated, and the rest of the hair shaft appears brittle and dull.

There are several causes that can worsen dry hair, but this flaking process is usually associated with periods of increased stress and nervousness. It has also been linked to vitamin A deficiency, insufficient daily water intake, and atmospheric changes in cold seasons, which worsen the condition, as well as the use of unsuitable shampoos and washing the hair with water above 37º, which significantly worsens the symptoms.
