Diffuse medicine alopecia

Some medicines can cause a reversible hair-loss.

Among these medicines can be highlighted anticoagulants, anti-gout, anti-rheumatic, antidepressants, hypertension treatments, beta-blockers (heart) and vitamin A in high doses.

Some medicines used in cancer chemotherapy cause the hair cells to stop in their division and so the hair becomes thin and easily break as it emerges from the scalp. This phenomenon occurs between the first and third weeks after the start of the treatment.

Main causes:

External factors: medicines such as anticoagulants, anti-gout, anti-rheumatic, beta-blockers (heart), hypertension treatments and also antidepressants.
